FUNDRAISING

Social organisations form an integral part of society, striving towards social change and transformation. However, despite the presence of well-funded foundations and organizations that combat critical social issues on the ground, the sector is faced with a plethora of challenges that disable society from receiving the full benefits of their interventions. The current pandemic and the consequent clamp down of foreign funding and channelization of CSR funding towards COVID-19, has impacted Indian NGOs to a large extent. Funding from CSR could potentially reduce by 30-60% as per an FSG report. Not having enough funds not only creates impediments in accomplishing projects, but it also jeopardizes organizations given that there are high operational costs.

 WHY WE ARE DOING THIS

With the clock ticking, India’s demographic dividend could turn into a demographic nightmare, wiping away years of developmental progress. To prevent such a scenario from occurring, there is an urgent need to improve the way in which civil society, government and donors act and interact within the broad spectrum of social impact. We envision the 'Fundraising track' to bring together different stakeholders - Foundations, HNIs, Corporates and NGOs to discuss how Funding towards impact will change in the coming years and what NGOs need to do to sustain and continue creating a lasting impact. A convening of different stakeholders will enable collaboration towards a common goal and ensure dissemination of knowledge within the larger ecosystem.

Additionally, Masterclasses will create a space for actionable learning, leading to strengthening organizations and the sector as a whole.
